Are you ready to make a significant impact in specialist markets? Join our dynamic team as a Sales Development Specialist and play a pivotal role in expanding our client base and sales of PTFE flexible hoses.
Watson Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions is an SSE PLC Group company (https://www.spiraxsarcoengineering.com/). SSE (London Stock Exchange - FTSE 50) is a manufacturer of engineered solutions, employing 8500 people across 130+ operating units globally. We offer a range of fluid handling solutions across the biotech and industrial markets.
This role will focus on:
- Client Engagement: Manage your time effectively to visit existing customers and actively pursue new accounts.
- Daily Reporting: Provide daily reports and promptly communicate any issues to your line manager.
- Weekly Objectives: Present weekly objectives and customer visit plans to your line manager for strategic alignment.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise with the internal sales team to address customer issues and ensure seamless coordination.
- Customer Support: Conduct on-site visits, offering expert advice and assistance to customers.
- Sales Targets: Successfully achieve monthly sales budgets through strategic planning and execution.
Collaboration with Teams:
- Internal Sales Team: Collaborate closely for enquiries, quotations, and order processing.
- External Sales Team: Share successes, experiences, and customer details to strengthen team cohesion.
- Technical Department: Coordinate on technical requests that fall outside your expertise or the internal sales team’s scope.
- QA Department: Engage with the QA department for validations, quality issues, and accreditations.
- Management Team: Provide regular updates and maintain open communication with the management team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in sales, particularly within the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotech, or food and beverage industries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to meeting and exceeding sales targets.
