Location:Poole, GB, BH17 7ERType of Employment: Full-timeCareer Level: ProfessionalJob Family:Date posted: May 22, 2023Senior Embedded Software EngineerWe are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Yunex Traffic product development team in Poole.We develop advanced traffic products such as inductive loop detectors, advanced image capture cameras, traffic controllers.Who are we looking for?
  • Someone who is always keen to learn new skills.
  • With experience designing and implementing embedded software solutions for a range of hardware devices. The successful candidate will have worked on projects through a complete embedded software development lifecycle from inception to delivery.
  • You will enjoy opportunities to work on both new and existing projects and be challenged to make a difference through your enthusiasm and self-motivation; bringing ideas to the team, facilitating change and helping direct the future of Yunex Traffic
  • Someone who has strong oral and written communication skills. The ability to design complex systems in a way that also allows our teams to implement them.
  • You will be able to review, analyse the technical detail of our roadmaps and help design appropriate embedded software solutions to implement them
  • You will be educated to degree level / HND (Level 5) or be able to demonstrate an equivalent skill set.
Day to day tasks include:
  • Working with our teams in the development of new products
  • Maintaining our range of product to:
  • Help resolve bugs
  • Improve performance
  • Add new features
You will have the following qualification/ skills/ experience:Tech Skills Required:
  • C, C++
  • Working with Embedded Linux (E.g. Angstrom, Yokto)
  • Complex multithreaded applications
  • Writing Linux Device Drivers
  • Networking protocol experience
  • Java, Java Script
and desirable:
  • Java, Java Script
  • Docker / Podman
  • Gitlab
  • Experience with UEFI booting
  • Open SSL
  • CI/CD Practices
  • DevOps Practices
