We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Ecommerce Trading Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation and reporting of our online platforms. You will be responsible for monitoring the functionality, performance, and efficiency of our website and apps, as well as managing content on site contributing to the overall success of our online sales and customer experience. You will work closely with the buying and merchandising teams to ensure the right product is displaying at the right time and report on what is currently performing on site.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will be working with merchandising, web development, marketing and design teams to bring our products and services to our customers digitally, using data to make decisions.
What you’ll be doing:
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement e-commerce strategies to drive sales, increase customer acquisition, and improve conversion rates.
- Monitor website and app performance, identify areas for improvement, and work to implement solutions to enhance user experience and drive conversions.
- Manage all aspects of the e-commerce website, including product listings, pricing, promotions, and content updates.
- Assist in the management and publishing of website content, including product listings, images, and promotional materials.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as traffic, conversion rate, average order value, and customer retention, and take actions to optimize performance.
- Analyse sales data and customer behaviour to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, generating and contribute to regular reporting and trade meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and IT to execute campaigns and initiatives that drive traffic and sales, while driving site and app enhancements and new features
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay informed about industry trends and best practices, ensure we are following best practices.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, agencies, and partners to ensure the smooth operation of the e-commerce business.
- Stay up-to-date on e-commerce technologies, platforms, and tools, and make recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leaders on e-commerce performance, opportunities, and challenges.
What you’ll be able to demonstrate:
Skills and experience
- Proven experience in e-commerce management, preferably in a retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong understanding and experience with website management, content management systems (CMS), and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce).
- Proficiency in digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions. Utilise analytics tools to track and analyse traffic, user behaviour, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and developing a team
