Job description:About the Role
We are seeking a Purchase Technical Support Manager to join the business on a permanent basis, at Crewe-the worlds first Carbon Neutral Automotive site! Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the PTS Manager will be mainly responsible for the management of critical suppliers and systems, delivering in project and production phases. Critical to this role, is the ability to deliver complex projects, leading a cross functional team and communicating effectively across all levels of our business.
This is an exciting opportunity and a key role within Purchase Projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Production readiness and tooling management -working with suppliers to ensure effective process planning, capacity planning and capability, facilities and sub-supplier preparation
- Provide technical and project management skills to Purchasing
- Lead activities to influence cross functional and own department decision making
- Reporting of critical supplier projects using Project Management gateway methodology, ensuring critical path management problem solving and supplier project timelines
- Presentation of reporting to board and act as Purchasing board representative where required
About the Person
The successful applicant will have extensive supply chain and automotive component knowledge with proven ability to influence and lead project management activities cross functionally within Bentley. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong prioritisation skills
- Experience in dealing with key, critical projects
- Experience in presenting information to board level
- Ability to help make commercial business decisions to reduce cost budget
- Ability to work and influence other business cross functions on supplier related issues
