About the role (External)
Provide strategic and tactical management within the Telecoms Network Management Centre (NMC) that has visibility and control of the National Telecoms network. Act as a single point of contact for the fault and incident management and effective restoration of all Telecoms services in line with Operational and Service Level Agreements (OLA/SLA).
- Lead, direct and manage NRTs telecoms service management capability to encourage Network Rail’s behavioural and performance expectations to meet agreed telecoms availability and reliability targets in line with OLA/SLAs to enhance Telecom’s reputation and build confidence.
- Direct and manage proactive remote condition monitoring of the telecoms estate to control, if not mitigate, end user service impact.
- Direct and manage the provision of specialised administrative and technical resources to facilitate delivery of planned network activities and support of Network renewals and upgrades.
- Develop and deliver, through collaboration with senior stakeholders, suppliers and partners, the most effective resolution to crises, major incidents and problems to minimise impact to the customer.
- Lead and direct compliance with process, technical competence and optimal resource utilisation to deliver an effective and efficient service to maintain telecom service availability and reliability, the safe movement of trains in line with the scheduled timetable and compliance with health and safety regulations, including fatigue management.
- Produce and analyse detailed reports to identify opportunities to influence telecoms continuous service improvement programmes to identify, manage and mitigate risks to telecoms services.
- Collaborate with NRTs Security and Resilience teams to develop, implement and maintain business continuity plans to reduce risk across NMC teams, facilities and the telecoms network to maintain service availability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external parties to identify, develop and integrate more efficient and effective working practices so that the NMC may respond to the impact of environmental changes, emerging technologies and industry wide best practice.
- Provide advice and guidance on the introduction of new services into the NMC to support benefit realisation of investment and continuous service improvement projects.
- Manage the NMC financial budget to meet corporate targets while delivering value added service that is focused on customer expectations.
