Right now, we’re on the lookout for Customer Service Assistants to deliver horrible memorable experiences in this distinctively thrilling attraction that takes you back to York’s darkest history – York Dungeon.

About the role

In these varied roles you will be the first point of contact for our peasants, offering a warm welcome, supporting them to stock up on Dungeon related goodies, answering any questions guests may have and acting as a sales representative. You may also get to be part of the infamous Dungeon lates, serving drinks in our very own Golden Fleece Pub after hours!

These are seasonal, temporary, fixed term positions to support us during the main 2021 season. Contracts will start from early July and run through to November.

To the wrong candidate, this could be the worst job imaginable. To the right candidate, one who displays traits of repulsiveness, who revels in being mischievous, and who has a penchant for the dark side of life – this could be the best job in the world.

About you

You’ll have an outgoing personality as well as the confidence and energy to interact with the dungeon dwellers and of course the traitors – going out of your way to deliver great service with everyone who you encounter. An adequate level of fitness and stamina is not required; an unpleasant appearance is a bonus.

We offer the following rates of pay;

  • 18 to 20: £7.75/hr
  • 21 to 22: £8.36/hr
  • 23+: £8.91/hr
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applicants under 18 due to the nature of these roles, including the sale of alcohol.

In order to comply with government guidelines, should you be successful in your application interviews may be conducted initially via telephone or video call. If requested to attend one of our attractions for a face-to-face interview, we have hygiene and safety measures in place, and you will be asked to adhere to these.

These will include but not be limited to, social distancing, non-invasive temperature checks, face masks and the use of hand sanitisers.
