This global broker was an early adopter of agile working, developing a flexible approach to working long before lockdown, and was therefore able to navigate the Covid crisis much more nimbly than competing firms. Having come out of the other side much stronger, boasting an increase in both revenue and share price, it now looks to capitalise on this growth with the appointment of a Corporate Account Executive.

Our client is one of the most respected names in the insurance business; a global broking powerhouse that arranges the insurance programmes of some of the world’s best-known companies. It invests significantly in its infrastructure to ensure it remains at the cutting-edge of the industry and prides itself on being able to deliver first-class service and innovative solutions to its clients.

Here, you will inherit a substantial portfolio of corporate risks – the exact nature of this account can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and ambitions, but it is likely to comprise accounts generating at least £20K income each from a wide range of industry sectors such as Tech, Life Science, Manufacturing or Automotive. For more experienced Account Executives and Directors, it is entirely feasible that your portfolio could include six-figure income risks and clients from complex overseas exposures.

The focus on this role is very much centred on the successful management of your existing portfolio of accounts. As such, you will benefit from a warm handover to your clients and support from colleagues to understand their businesses. You will build on these existing relationships, developing excellent rapport with key personnel and an unrivalled knowledge of your clients’ ever-changing exposure to risks. Working in close conjunction with a dedicated team of technically-gifted brokers, you will ensure these risks are mitigated. Where gaps in cover exist, you will educate clients as to the best way to address these. As one would expect, you will negotiate with Underwriters to secure your clients the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums.

You must pride yourself on your continual professional development in order to keep abreast of changes in the market, different insurers‘ appetites for specific risks, and to deliver a superior service to your clients. As such, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have made significant progress towards professional qualifications under the CII, or can demonstrate a commitment to doing so.

You must have excellent communication (written & verbal) and stakeholder management skills in order to secure the ‘buy in’ of clients from all walks of life across a variety of sectors. You be well-organised, meticulous in your approach, and have good task management skills. As one would expect, it is imperative that you have previous experience of commercial broking and knowledge of a wide range of covers such as Property, Liability, Business Interruption, Professional Indemnity and Directors’ & Officers’ insurance.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (negotiable) and a flexible benefits package (encompassing pension, season ticket loans, DIS, CIC etc.) that adapts to your own personal circumstances. You will also benefit from a bespoke personal development plan and support towards professional qualifications.
